Craig Kelly quits Liberal party to move to the crossbench
The backbench MP tells colleagues he will leave the party, but support the government on confidence and supply Outspoken Liberal backbencher Craig Kelly has resigned from the Liberal party to sit on the crossbench, leaving the Morrison government with just a one-seat majority in the House of Representatives. Kelly dropped the bombshell during the regular joint party room meeting on Tuesday morning. The MP told colleagues he would quit the Liberal party, but support the government on confidence and supply.
